Operations

The IEOC operates year-round as a central point of contact and coordination for emergency response in Indigenous communities.

Core functions include:

  • 24/7 emergency response (April 1 – Sept 30)

  • Critical incident coordination

  • Mass evacuation and wildfire response support

  • Search and rescue coordination

  • Pre-planning and disaster recovery services

This service is designed to support Indigenous communities with culturally grounded and community-centred operational leadership during emergencies.

How to Access Services

  • Consultations, training, and deployments are available to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities across Ontario and beyond.

  • Direct engagement with community leadership (Chief & Council or authorized contacts) helps initiate service activation.

  • The IEOC operates 24/7 during designated emergency seasons and can be contacted via the ISN Maskwa website or phone for urgent coordination.
